Peekyee
Hill Social Organization was founded
in 1998 with the kind initiative of
Kami Sherpa, whio is also a Founder
President of Dhaleki Primary School,
Vicki’s Educational Foundation
(VEDFON) and Catalonia School. During
his presidential term from 1992 to
1999 September, he had joined in many
activities with local people. He also
sponsored the needed cost of 2 teachers
used for transfer the precious knowledge
of the old lamas (monks) to the young
boys and girls of the village of Goli
VDC, in Solukhumbu district, in the
lower Everest region.
However, the program proved very fruitful
and successfully created a number
of young monks. This success was very |
|
enthusiastic though not
enough and he also felt that only the monastic
education can not transform the society
in the current situation. And by a single
person’s financial support can not
help to a society. Realizing this, the Peaky
Hill Social Organization was created in
order to help the backward people playing
the bridge-role in between the Helpless
people and kind-hearted donors around the
world.
Geographically, in this
village the primary school is in located
at a distance of about 50 minutes far where
as the high school is situated at about
distance of 2 hours.
So, the young children of below 8 years
are stayed in the village not going to school
because of the distance that they could
not pass the densely forest. And the parents
of this area, as of other areas too due
to heavy burden of the workload they couldn't
give time to bring their children to the
school.
Thus, aiming to help all those parents and
the children, this organization has been
planning to launch a primary school in the
heart of this isolated but a beautiful village.
Also, recently it has published a Sherpa
language dictionary-- "Shewi Chhik
Dzo". A CD contains of Sherpa songs
named "Dhakpi Sherwi Lu" and Calendar
for year 2006 were also launched... The
Sherpa language book is published in three
3 languages—namely: Sherpa, English
and Nepali which have been distributed in
all parts of Nepal as well as spread to
Japan and America. The Sherpa language dictionary
will be avail able in the internet in very
near future.
The dictionary “Sherwi
Tshik Dzho”, the first Sherpa Language
Dictionary is published in three languages
(Sherpa, English & Nepali) dedicated
to the Sherpa communities residing in different
parts of the world and to all those who
are interested in Sherpa language and culture.
At last, but not least,

this dictionary is highly appreciated. If
you have nay suggestions, we would like
to request to those all for their vital
suggestions in order to make the dictionary
a perfect and updated. So please do us touch
